Abstract

The experiment was to investigate the effect of Artemisia scoparia Waldst. et Kit. powder on growth performance, antioxidant capacity and immunity of Litopenaeus vannamei. A total of 2 100 healthy white shrimp with an body length about 2.5 cm were randomly divided into seven groups, with three replicates in each group and 100 shrimp in each replicate. The shrimp in blank control group (group A) were fed with basal diet, the shrimp in positive control group (group B) were fed with basic diet and 5 ml/L Pentanthus extract was thrown into the water, and shrimp in experimental groups were fed with basal diet supplemented with 0.5%, 1.0%, 2.0%, 4.0% and 8.0% Artemisia scoparia Waldst. et Kit. powder, respectively. The experiment lasted for 42 d. The results showed that compared with group A, SR, WGR, CF, HIS, SGR were significantly increased in all groups (P<0.05), FCR significantly decreased (P<0.05). Compared with group B, WGR and SGR in Artemisia scoparia Waldst. et Kit. powder supplemental groups were significantly increased (P<0.05). Compared with group A, the content of ammonia nitrogen in all groups except 0.5% group was significantly decreased (P<0.05), except for group B, the nitrite content and pH value of whole shrimp culture water in each group were significantly decreased (P<0.05), pH value of aquaculture water in each group was significantly decreased (P<0.05). Compared with group A, MDA content in hepatopancreas in Artemisia scoparia Waldst. et Kit. powder supplemental groups was significantly decreased (P<0.05), and activitiy of SOD, CAT and PPO were significantly increased (P<0.05). Compared with group A, the mRNA expression levels of Toll-1 and Toll-2 in hepatopancreas tissues in Artemisia scoparia Waldst. et Kit. powder group were significantly decreased (P<0.05). The experiment indicates that Artemisia scoparia Waldst. et Kit. powder can promote growth, antioxidant capacity and non-specific immunity of Litopenaeus vannamei, and the appropriate supplemental ratio is 1.0%~2.0%.
