This article reports that in another step away from being its own supplier of aerospace parts and assemblies, Boeing Co. is selling its Wichita, Kansas, commercial aerostructures business unit to Onex Corp., a Toronto investment group, and its Rocketdyne Propulsion & Power unit to United Technologies Corp. The transaction, which is expected to close in the second quarter, will face regulatory review, but that is not seen as a hurdle. Industry observers believe Boeing first tried to sell Wichita several years ago, but the depressed commercial aircraft market prompted it to pull back.
