Abstract

Epistemological vigilance in research formalizes the reflexive critical analysis of the theoretical, methodological and ontological relationships that guarantees the coherent practice of the significance of the object and social context of study. The present article is of a documentary nature, whose purpose is to unveil the transcendence of epistemological vigilance in social science research in graduate schools. For this purpose, the systematization and analysis of referential documentary sources was carried out, under a theoretical perspective that provides an approach to the reality of graduate schools, making use of the reflexivity conferred by the researcher's paradigmatic line of thought and the social facts that arise to be investigated. Therefore, the theoretical and methodological perspective assumed in the research responds to the epistemological significance that the researcher consecrates to the object of study constructed, providing an explanatory and resolving sense to the problems posed, being the graduate schools academic scenarios where research is developed for the purpose of dissemination and disclosure of knowledge, which accounts for the quality of its results and the contribution to the scientific community, making them the main means of contribution to the social demands and needs.
