Abstract

This paper seeks to mobilize the category of "Améfricanity", created by Lélia Gonzalez, to reposition the debates on curriculum policies and the production of curricula in everyday educational practices committed to the struggles against racial inequalities and discrimination. The analysis, which is based on the processes of resistance to coloniality in Améfrica Ladina and the confrontations carried out by the Black Movement, unfolds the implications of the African conception of the curriculum, in line with Laws 10.639/03 and 11.645/08, discussing the limits, challenges and possibilities arising from this legal and political-epistemic device. It seeks to reflect on how the "decolonization of curricula" imposes the need to resize the vocabulary, the imaginaries and the practices that are reflected in its political construction, beyond the model parameterized by categories that do not express the reality of the territories and the experiences of racialized subjects in the diaspora.
