Fostering heroine's journey on digital platform to sustain re-representation of women role.

The rapid growth of information and communication technology has given support to the film industry. It creates a professional film worker's requirement without looking at a specific gender in a work field. Working in the film industry, especially as a screenwriter, has allowed women to voice gender equality. This paper aims to explore female characters' descriptions in the film written by female screenwriters in Indonesia. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach to get a detailed picture of the objectives. The methods used are interview, observation, and literature study. The result shows that the emerging of digital platforms helps the work of women filmmakers to be more accessible to audiences. Digital platforms showcase more films with more time, unlike the movie theatre. It also helps them to show different representations of women. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
