Abstract

Acknowledgements This study contracted ICES Data & Analytic Services and used de-identified data from the ICES Data Repository, which is managed by ICES with support from its funders and partners: Canada's Strategy for Patient-Oriented Research (SPOR), the Ontario SPOR Support Unit, the Canadian Institutes of Health Research and the Government of Ontario. Baseline data include personal and family health history; socio-demographic information; personal exposures to tobacco, alcohol and medications; and detailed information on ethnicity and country of origin (Box 1 and Table 2). The linking of Canada's rich collection of administrative health data with the cohort's data represents a powerful means to disseminate high-quality, timely data. The OHS does not hold administrative health data or cancer registry data. [Extracted from the article]
