Abstract
- The research analyzes the social opportunities and challenges of intercultural education as a pedagogical resource for Afro-Colombian studies. We highlight the didactic openings that interculturality promotes as an adequate way to cancel the manifest violence in racist societies. It is worth validating the sensitive condition of the other as cultural recognition, provoking consensus in favor of democratic societies. The solidary disposition as an ethical attitude towards otherness becomes the foundation of peaceful social relations. With the intention of characterizing the situation of vulnerability of Colombian society, and the ways in which this limits the educational scope, the educational events developed in an institution in the southeastern area of Cartagena are studied. From the understanding of the events of the Afro-Colombian Studies Chair, it is possible to understand the distances between the curricular demands and the educational practices. The understandings are made from the qualitative approach, based on the socio-critical paradigm. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
