Abstract
- Play is a process that encourages social interactions. While its rules are discovered, playful activity leads man to understand the characteristics of society, its members and himself as a thinking being. In this context, gamification offers a series of techniques, mechanisms and elements that lead to valuing games as useful instruments for solving complex problems, which encompasses the application of logical-formal thinking and the understanding of the structures of thought, becoming a topic of interest for philosophy and education. As an educational tool, it has had growth and revitalization due to the rise of Information and Communication Technologies, the use of the Internet and the presence of social networks, while at the same time emphasizing autonomous learning, critical thinking and the adaptation of teaching strategies according to the demands of the digital society. Gamifying university academic activities leads to educational innovation, making the use of technologies essential for pedagogical processes, in order to capture the interest of the student, without losing sight of the essential meaning of education, which is the formation of individuals for their insertion in society, with a system of values consistent with solidarity, respect and cooperation.
