Abstract
- The present study is devoted to the computational homogenization of woven composites by using a reduced order model, called the cluster-based nonuniform transformation field analysis (CNTFA). The CNTFA is newly reformulated by taking into account anisotropic properties of phases. The nonlinear effective behavior of woven composite is directly derived from the given constitutive relation of each phases in the local material coordinates. The number of required integration points in representative volume element (RVE) is reasonably reduced by using data compression technology based on clustering of RVE. Also, the numerical procedure to perform the proposed method within ABAQUS framework is described in detail. Numerical examples show that the proposed method is very useful to predict not only the macroscopic behavior of woven composites, but also microscopic stress/strain distribution in RVE. The proposed method would be applied to any composite with nonlinear anisotropic phases. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
