Abstract

In this letter, a cavity‐backed annular slot antenna with a reconfigurable dual‐linear polarization of ∓45° employing two PIN diodes for wireless internet of things (IoT) applications was proposed to address issues such as bulky size, circuit complexity, and structural stability. The front‐to‐back ratio and gain enhancements of the proposed antenna with an overall size of 0.44 λ0 × 0.44 λ0 × 0.17 λ0 at 2.545 GHz were designed and accomplished utilizing a cavity‐backed reflector. The impedance bandwidth based on the 10 dB return loss and the peak gain of the proposed antenna are approximately 18.8% (2.26–2.73 GHz) and 7.42 dBi, respectively. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
