Abstract

Indorama Ventures Public Co. Ltd. will acquire Oxiteno S.A. Indústria e Comércio, a subsidiary of Ultrapar Participações S.A. and one of the main integrated detergent producers in Brazil. Oxiteno will complement Indorama's presence in the United States and Latin America. In Chile, the Green Corridors Network project was announced, a joint initiative between the Chilean Ministry of Energy and the Maersk Mc-Kinney Moller Center for Zero Carbon Maritime Transport. In Guatemala, Levi's partnered with Mercado Global to launch a collection of sustainable accessories made from Levi's denim fabric and handwoven by indigenous artisans. In Mexico, the topic of nearshoring was discussed during the visit of the presidents of the United States and Canada. In Peru, Textil El Amazonas received the Blue Certificate for its water treatment plant for the reuse of effluents from its dry cleaning process. Additionally, Inditex and WWF will collaborate on forest conservation projects, watershed restoration, and the protection of threatened species and their ecosystems. OEKO-TEX has made updates to its testing and certification criteria, including the prohibition of the use of perfluorinated substances and the mandatory self-assessment for OEKO-TEX Eco Passport certification.
