Abstract

To understand the landscape fragmentation and ecological quality changes in the Wuyuer River basin in the context of ecological protection and rapid economic development, this paper uses Landsat remote sensing images to analyze the landscape pattern changes in the Wuyuer River basin, especially the fragmentation process. And 16 indicators were selected from three aspects of landscape stability, landscape disturbance and socio-economic impact to build the evaluation index system of ecological environment quality in Wuyuer River basin. The RBF radial basis function neural network model was used to quantitatively evaluate the ecological environment quality of the Wuyuer River basin. The results show that the fragmentation of the landscape in the Wuyuer River basin increased between 1980 and 2020, and that the ecological quality was between excellent and fair, with a tendency to degrade in an undesirable direction. The evaluation results can be used as a basis for future ecosystem protection and restoration management in the Wuyuer River basin, and as a reference for similar basin ecological and environmental quality evaluations.
