In Chinese history, the Northern Dynasties was a period of abnormal climate, when drought and cold constituted the main features of the climate. With the abnormalities of climate, drought, frost, hurricane, hail and plague of insects broke out frequently, all of which had a profound impact on forestry. In this period, abnormal climate directly caused death for large areas of forest and reduction of forestry by-products.
