- Enucleation of Esophageal Leiomyoma Less Than 3 cm: Submucosal Tunneling Endoscopic Resection Versus Thoracoscopic Resection Thoracoscopic resection (TR) has replaced traditional thoracotomy, and recent studies have concluded that submucosal tunneling endoscopic resection (STER) is safe and effective for tumors less than 3 cm in diameter [[2]].
