Abstract

The present Retrospective Chart Review aimed to study the psychosocial functioning, clinical and socio-environmental profile of children with severe mental illness (SMI). The correlation and parametric testing were performed to find the relationship and difference among the variables. A total of 69 individual case files were reviewed, and Children's Global Assessment Scale (CGAS) was used to rate the current global level of functioning. Children were found to have moderate to severe level of psychosocial functional impairment. No statistically significant mean difference was found between the CGAS scores and socio-environmental and clinical variables. But positive and negative correlation was found between clinical variables and CGAS score. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
