Retrospective analysis of the risk of hyperkalaemia in women older than 65 years of age prescribed spironolactone for female-pattern hair loss.

Dear Editor, Female-pattern hair loss (FPHL) is the most common form of alopecia affecting women. Over one-third of patients were on a concomitant medication that could cause hyperkalaemia, and patients carried an average of 3.4 comorbidities that could increase the risk of hyperkalaemia (Table 1).
