Abstract

The research work by Hoch et al. (2020) deals with the development of an instrument for measuring ethical competence in nursing education. So far, there is no such instrument, which is why one was developed. The instrument is based on a developmental stage model and includes nine dimensions with a total of 34 assessment dimensions. A study was conducted to measure the ethical competence of nursing trainees and evaluate the results. The results show that the ethical competence of the trainees is mainly at the lower levels of the developmental stage model. Further research is necessary to examine the influence of education on ethical competence. [Extracted from the article]
