Abstract
- Bedside retrieval was attempted, but abandoned as the FB was immobile and the patient was very uncomfortable. Computed tomography abdomen showed an intussusception of the sigmoid colon into the proximal end of the FB (Fig. A 59-year-old patient presented to the emergency department with acute abdominal pain, 2 h after insertion of a syringe-type foreign body (FB) per rectum (PR) that can create a vacuum effect.
