Abstract

When developing heat engines (ICE), initial tests are carried out for compliance with performance characteristics under standard conditions, and then adjustments are made when testing the engine under conditions corresponding to their use. However, checking the operation of the ICE in all operating conditions is practically impossible. That is, the need to develop simple and accurate methods for predicting operational characteristics and the introduction of ways to prevent their violation in a wide range of operating conditions is relevant. For this purpose, the possibility of applying a model-thermodynamic approach to the development of forecasting methods – calculation of engine performance characteristics is considered. This article describes the possibility of using a thermodynamic model of regulation and formation of the composition of the combustion products of hydrocarbon fuels to optimize the working processes of ICE.
