The objective of this study is to understand the role of associations in the dynamics of the coffee sector by analyzing the role of the Federation of Coffee Growers of the Cerrado (FCC) in coordinating the agro-industrial system of coffee with a focus on the seal of designation of origin. This organization presented characteristics of an Interface Agent, mainly through representation actions with government agencies and international entities. Subsequently, the FCC expanded its actions and became a Trusted Agent through actions to promote the region's coffee region. In addition, FCC also expanded its actions and became a Coordinating Agent through actions to control the quality of production delimited by the origin of the Cerrado coffee region.
