Abstract

Developing computational thinking (CP) in children has currently been recognized as an important activity for the exercise of citizenship in the 21st century. In Brazil, there is a recommendation to develop PC in formal education since Early Childhood Education (EI). However, this segment has shown greater resistance to methodological innovations. Therefore, this research aimed at the development and application of a didactic sequence (DS) for the development of the PC in EI through which plugged activities (with the presence of hardware and software) and unplugged (without the presence of hardware and software) were proposed.) in accordance with the curricular organization of this school stage, considering the behavior of students in the face of the interactions that are provided to them, generating practical knowledge for the solution of specific problems without establishing value judgments. The results showed that it is possible to develop the PC in EI through plugged and unplugged activities. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
