Introduction.

The article focuses on the history of juries, particularly the absence of women and Indigenous jurors, in Australia and Ireland, as well as feminist women's groups' advocacy for women's jury participation. Topics include attempts to provide women with the right to jury participation, including the debates in Queensland and Tasmania; and lack of jury rights accorded to Indigenous Australians throughout the twentieth century and potential impact of all-male juries on criminal trials.
