Comparative analysis of actions on silos according to DBN 'enterprises, buildings and structures for storage and processing of grain' and DSTU EN 'actions on structures: silos and tanks'.

The Paper considers the codification of loads due to storage products on flat-bottomed steel silos in accordance with two standards valid in Ukraine: DBN B.2.2-8-98 'Enterprises, Buildings and Structures for Storage and Processing of Grain" [1] in combination with SNiP (Construction Standards and Regulations) 2.09.03-85 'Structures of Industrial Enterprises" [2] and DSTU EN 1991-4 'Actions on Structures – Part 4: Silos and Tanks" [3]. Several components of grain loads were compared in accordance with these standards. The matter involves a horizontal pressure on the inner surface of the silo vertical wall, tangential frictional tractions on the walls, a vertical pressure in the stored solid and compressive forces in vertical stiffeners.
