Abstract

The article focuses on India's SpiceJet, a New Delhi-based startup that will spend $ 630 million to buy 20 737-800, with deliveries beginning in 2006. Ethiopian Airlines, which flies an all-Boeing fleet of 737s and 767s, said it will buy five of the 767's successor, the 787. The competing Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 captured All Nippon Airways' contract to equip its 50 aircraft. Boeing has confirmed previous reports that Buraq Air of Tripoli will buy six 737-800s. It also said the U.S. Air Force is buying three 737-700s as C-40C military transports for the 932nd Airlift Wing at Scott AFB, Illinois.
