Abstract
- Since 2013, dengue, chikungunya and zika viruses have been circulating simultaneously in America. Although the primary vector of all these viruses is the mosquito, Aedes aegypti, a secondary vector that has already been reported in Venezuela is A. albopictus. In this communication, the presence of A. albopictus is reported in the northern zone of Bolívar state and some considerations are made about its importance in the epidemiology of dengue and other arboviruses.
