Abstract
- The article is a review of the book "The Honor of Thinking" by Jacques Derrida, which compiles a master course and a seminar given by the author in 1996-1997. The course explores Alain's proposition "To think, that is to say no" and seeks to determine its limits, connecting it with other propositions by Alain and other philosophers such as Bergson, Husserl, Sartre, and Heidegger. The book presents editorial challenges due to Derrida's illegible writing, but it consists of four sessions and 19 cards with comments and quotes from authors discussed in the course. The text reflects on thinking and the search for truth, emphasizing the importance of saying "no" as an essential part of thinking and criticizing belief as a limitation of thought. The relationship between belief and doubt is also discussed, arguing that both are necessary and interconnected in thinking. [Extracted from the article]
