Abstract

This article aims to demonstrate and analyze some economic and social effects aggravated by the COVID-19 pandemic in Brazil. I argue that those effects are the pre-pandemic disastrous political, economic and social consequences of ultraliberal and fascist forces in power. The paper also draws attention to the worsening socio-economic and harmful conditions of this context for the working class, especially for the poorest groups. To make this possible, we have been carrying out documentary and systematic literature reviews since the beginning of the pandemic. The article contributes to broader theoretical debates about the public policy in the Brazilian government's management in facing the CoVid effects, which explains the higher mortality rates and the aggravation of social problems during the current scenario.
