The Sky Islands boast all our "mountain" warblers, most of our hummingbird jewels, and, of course, Elegant Trogon, the Holy Grail for many first-timers. Three species of jay and three species of vireo may be seen along this stretch, along with many of the mountain warblers. Lucifer Hummingbird, a purple-throated member of a group of hummingbird species called "sheartails", is a bird of northern and central Mexico.
