Abstract

It is known that Turks started to migrate to Anatolia due to the Ottoman Empire losing their lands in the Balkans. A cartel was made between Romania and Turkey in 1934 and within this framework, many immigrants were settled in Kovancılar district of Elazığ. Some of these immigrants migrated to the western parts of the country due to geographical and economic reasons, while the rest began to lose their dialect features due to being a minority. In our study, the dialect features of the Kovancılar immigrants had collected and examined before they were lost. In this study, called the Phonetic of Elazig Province Kovancılar Immigrants Dialect, the phonetic features of the dialect used by these immigrants who came to Elazığ and founded Kovancılar within the framework of the exchange agreement were examined and these features were compared with Turkey Turkish. The study: It consists of Introduction, Analysis and Conclusion. In the introduction, some information is given about the history, establishment, geography of Kovancılar and the current situation of immigrants. In the analysis section, the phonetic features of the compiled texts were discussed in detail and compared with the Turkish written language of Turkey, their similarities and differences were examined and explained with examples. In the conclusion part, some issues that are considered important from the phonetic features of the Kovancılar immigrants dialect are highlighted.
