Abstract

Non-precious transition metal oxides demonstrate significant potential as cost-effective alternatives for noble metals electrocatalysts. The perovskite-type oxides with the general ABO3 chemical formula of La0.6Sr0.4Co0.2Fe0.8O3-δ (LSCF) can be used as non-precious metal catalysts for the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR). However, the catalytic activity toward the ORR of the LSCF prepared by the conventional methods can be further improved. Herein, the spray pyrolysis process is employed to prepare the LSCF, exhibiting high ORR activity. The characterization results indicated that the as-prepared LSCF was rich in surface edges and oxygen vacancy on the surface of particles, which could be favorable for ORR. Preparing edge-enriched perovskite electrocatalyst toward oxygen reduction reaction with spray pyrolysis technology. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
