FRANZ BRENTANO: ON THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE VALUE RATIO OF PRESENTATIONS.

This paper analyses Brentano’s aesthetical approach to two questions concerning value. The first, whether all presentations essentially have a positive intrinsic value. Thesecond, if there is a kind of relation between two presentations that assigns higher value to one of them. The results Brentano came to are that, first, there are certain conditions inquality judgement of presentations for them to have intrinsic value.
