Abstract

A procedure was developed for preparing a hemosorbent by chemical and physical modification of natural silk and fibrous waste obtained by processing Bombyx mori silkworm cocoons. Complete separation of silk threads into pure fibroin and sericin was achieved by hydrolysis of silk fibers and fibrous waste in water in a closed system at 110°С and a pressure of 0.143 MPa for 24 h. Hydrolysis of pure fibroin was performed in an aqueous medium at 130°С under a pressure of 0.145 MPa. Then, the temperature was raised to 210°С at a pressure of 0.60 MPa, and the mixture was subjected to ultrasonic dispersion and microwave (2450 MHz) irradiation for 1‒15 min. The composition, structure, and physicochemical properties of the hemosorbent were studied by IR spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction analysis, and high-performance liquid chromatography. The hemosorbent obtained exhibits high activity in sorption of vitamin В12. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
