Abstract
- This paper explores the relational dimension in university contexts as a central element for the development of the sense of belonging for university students. Studies in the literature show that the “feeling part” of the University is an element that can affect the success or interruption of studies, but do not shed the light on if it can be modulated in the academic career. The empirical investigation has been conducted with a sample of students (N = 356) in order to investigate i) if there is a relationship between the sense of belonging and academic self-efficacy in the sample involved and ii) whether this potential relationship may increase and/or decrease based on the year of enrollment. Results show a positive correlation between sense of belonging and academic self-efficacy (r=0,52; p<0,01) and underline statistical differences among students groups based on the year of enrollment.
