Abstract
- With the objective of analyzing the contributions of the Pedagogical Residency Program for the education of teachers who teach mathematics in the early years of schooling, this article discusses: What do residents of the pedagogy course narrate about learning for teaching mathematics experienced with the Pedagogical Residency Program during the Covid-19 pandemic? The theoretical framework is based on discussions about the education of teachers who teach mathematics and on the proposals of the Pedagogical Residency Program for teacher education. To answer the question of this study, we carried out a qualitative research, using indepth interviews for data production. The interviews were conducted with three residents of the Pedagogical Residency Program, linked to the pedagogy course of a public university, located in the state of Mato Grosso, who participated in the residency under Capes Edict N. 01/2020. From the residents' narratives, we found that, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the activities developed in the pedagogical residence had to adapt to the organization of schools, limiting residents' autonomy in planning, developing, and evaluating mathematical activities. Despite the residents reporting few learning situations regarding the subject of mathematics, we found that the residents made a great effort to promote quality and accessible teaching for children, developing different teaching strategies that they could perform in emergency remote teaching.
