Abstract

Reaction of 3-amino-1H-pyrazole-4-carbonitrile with 2,4-pentanedione yielded 5,7-dimethylpyrazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidine-3-carbonitrile, which was easily and efficiently transformed into a small library of amido derivatives.
