The paper deals with the geographical approach on the (re)emergence of the concept of "milieu" in the frameworks of the analysis of contemporary neoliberal economic rationalities. It is intended to preliminary retrace the different meanings of the notion and concept of "milieu" and its relationship with the notions of environment and ecology. Next, we approach the perspective of the destructive economy and environmental devastation in its counterpoint with the concept of medium. In conclusion, there is the emergence of new perspectives of the "milieu" that open up other possibilities in the relationship of society and nature. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
