- The article presents the discussion on women fighting for the place on the fringes. Topics include physicist and Chemist Marie Curie, known for research into radioactivity during the First World War invented an X-ray machine for the wounded as a radiologist; and nuclear physicist Lise Meitner receiving a patent for the production of radiothorium in the USA in 1913.
