Abstract

Mammalian organs are composed of many cell types. They send signals through cell-cell interactions to maintain homeostasis and ensure body development. Traditional transcriptome sequencing takes a large number of cells or tissues as research samples, reflecting the overall transcriptome characteristics of cells, but cannot analyze the gene expression of a single cell. The development of single cell RNA sequencing(scRNA-seq)provides an effective method for revealing the characteristics of single cell transcriptome. In this paper, the scRNAseq platform, the main types of scRNA-seq technologies and the applications of scRNA-seq in mammals are reviewed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
