Abstract

Testicular tumors are rare in children under 15 years of age and represent 2 to 4% of all childhood cancers, cryptorchidism is the main risk factor for the later development of testicular germ cell tumors. 5-year-old preschool boy, with a history of left cryptorchidism without treatment, for the last year he has presented a progressive increase in volume in the left inguinal which extended to the left scrotal region, of petrified consistency, not painful on palpation, without adenomegaly, negative tumor markers, testicular ultrasound reported: left cystic tumor, lower abdomen tomography reported: left testicular tumor. A left radical orchiectomy and right orchidopexy were performed, with satisfactory evolution. The diagnosis of mature cystic teratoma is confirmed by biopsy and immunohistochemistry. Early diagnosis and management of cryptorchidism is important to avoid future neoplasms. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
