La formación de las Artes Urbanas en Rosario Transformación espacial, prácticas artísticas e integración gubernamental.

The city of Rosario presents a phenomenon of governmental integration of certain artistic practices. Under the name of Urban Arts (UA), the local government absorbed certain practices developed in public space during the 1980s and 1990s. This article approaches the formation of UA. First, it describes the spatial transformations that framed the emergence of UA. Second, it studies the configuration and spatialization of the artistic practices that would become UA. Third, it analyzes the formalization of these practices in a municipal school of UA. Through qualitative methodology, this paper posits UA as emerging from a governmental codification of pre-existing autonomous practices. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
