Abstract

The aim of this paper is to examine the issue of time, duration and eternity in Spinoza in the light of Deleuzian philosophy. In this regard, first, we will take a closer look at what the Ethics says on this subject, and then some observations Deleuze makes about Spinoza and duration will be expressed. In doing so, it will be observed that, although essences are eternal, they are not timeless, but that there is an internal dynamic with other essences of which it cannot be understood without reference to time. Finally, Deleuze's interpretations of essences in Spinoza will be analyzed in order to think of a Spinoza's theory of time and eternity. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
