Abstract

Indoor landslide model tests, theoretical analysis, and numerical simulations were performed to explore the occurrence mechanism and stability of large high-accumulation body landslides under heavy rainfall conditions. An unbalanced thrust method that considers the seepage force is derived, and a landslide stability algorithm under rainfall is established. The results show that landslide failure under the effect of heavy rainfall is mainly in the form of erosion failure and overall sliding, in addition to extensive localized damage at the leading edge of the landslide near the slope foot. The obtained results are in better agreement with the experimental results than those obtained using the traditional algorithm. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
