Abstract

Analyzed the surface structure, crystallinity and other physical properties of the low-pressure dry air plasma treated silk fiber. From the scanning electron microscope study showed the slim grooves after plasma treatment. So, plasma radiation hit on the surface of the silk fiber and get some micro range morphology changes occurred. And crystalline ratio also decreased which was useful to enrich the wettability properties of the silk fiber. From the weight loss analysis, it was concluded that some micro portion of silk fiber was etched by plasma treatment. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
