Abstract

This study examines the effects of turnover intention by the workplace climate in budget hotels. Data collected from 462 staff of budget hotels in India were measured using multivariate analysis. Findings indicate different results from those of luxury hotels and establish that except "job challenge, variety & feedback" all other budget hotel climates: "esprit of the profession, organization & workgroup", "cohesion, clarity & objectivity of system", and "leaders" facilitation & support' have a negative influence on turnover intention. Findings furthermore reveal that the turnover intention is higher in male and entry-level employees with few years of experience, and it gets reduced with higher job positions. This study provides implications by highlighting the features of the budget hotels' workplace climate that will control turnover. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
