The diagnostic instrument VDS31 Developmental Stage from the Behavioural Diagnostic System (VDS) of Strategic-Behavioural Therapy (SBT) is presented. The data obtained provide information about the quality of the regulation of emotions and social interactions with the respective resources and deficits. They expand the understanding of psychological functioning by the aspect of the developmental level and at the same time allow the formulation of therapeutic consequences to be derived from it. The instrument is theoretically based on the developmental models of Piaget, Kohlberg and Kegan. Results of a study show a statistically significant superiority of the developmental therapy intervention on several dependent variables. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
