Influence of finishing treatment on absorbency property of different sutures The absorbency of untreated, control and antibacterial finishing-treated silk and catgut sutures were measured. The finished sutures were weighed and an uptake of 5.4 ± 0.1% was found in silk sutures, while the uptake in catgut sutures was 4.3 ± 0.1%. [Extracted from the article]
