As a substitute of protein, single cell protein (SCP) is a high value-added biological product. It has a good development prospect that single cell protein are transformed into animal feed products by using different organic nitrogen sources such as greenhouse gases and waste biomass and inorganic nitrogen sources in the environment. The paper reviews the production of bacteria and the production enhancement techniques, the raw materials and the application of single-cell protein in detail, to provide a reference for the application and development of SCP in the feed industry.
