Abstract

The experiment was to study the effect of yeast culture and Bacillus subtilis on production performance of Simmental hybrid fattening cattle. A total of 40 Simmental crossbred cattle with a body weight of (390.0±16.2) kg were selected and randomly divided into four groups, with ten replicates in each group and one cattle in each replicate. The cattle in control group were only fed with basal diet, and the cattle in group Ⅰ, group Ⅱ and group Ⅲ were fed with basal diet supplemented with 0.1%, 0.2% and 0.3% yeast culture + Bacillus subtilis (mixing ratio 1∶ 1), respectively. The pre-trial period was 5 d, and the formal test period was 60 d. The results showed that compared with control group, the whole-term weight gain and average daily weight gain of beef cattle in group Ⅱ and group Ⅲ were significantly increased (P<0.05). Compared with control group, the serum AST activity and TC content of beef cattle in group Ⅱ and group Ⅲ were significantly decreased (P<0.05), and the serum TP content was significantly increased (P<0.05). Compared with control group, the content of lactic acid bacteria and Bifidobacteria in the beef cattle feces of group Ⅱ and group Ⅲ was significantly increased (P<0.05), and content of Escherichia coli was significantly decreased (P<0.05). The study indicates that adding 0.2% of microecological preparations compounded by yeast culture and Bacillus subtilis to beef cattle's fattening diet can improve production performance, serum biochemical indiexes and intestinal flora structure of beef cattle.
