Abstract: The article presents study on protective role of PTX3 during pregnancy under inflammatory conditions at the time of placentation. Topics include information on innate immune molecule involved in the modulation of inflammatory response; high susceptibility to abortion of pregnant females complicated by inflammatory conditions; and how PTX3 exerts a protective effect in pregnancies exposed to inflammatory stimuli during placentation.
