The global trend of research related to energy performance due to the implementation of green roofs in buildings was evaluated through a bibliometric quantification based on the scientific literature available in the Scopus database. Finding an increase in publications from 2010. The United States and Italy are the most productive countries. High collaboration is observed, mainly between authors and institutions. The review articles are the ones that manage to capture the attention in the new studies, the pattern in the citations shows the route of interests in the development of the area.
